Grace Family

The weekend has arrived. It snowed today and here we are facing a Mother’s Day that will be different than any we have ever known. If there is one thing all of us have learned lately is that we cannot control our circumstances. We can however choose how we react to them. We can choose to walk in love and be filled with the hope, joy and peace that Jesus offers to every one of us. We can take the opportunity that has been given to us to draw closer to Him and to draw others closer to Him as they see the hope that is in us.

Check out yesterday’s 2-4-U and be encouraged!

Romans 15:13 (TPT)
Now may God, the inspiration and fountain of hope, fill you to overflowing with uncontainable joy and perfect peace as you trust in him. And may the power of the Holy Spirit continually surround your life with his super-abundance until you radiate with hope!

We know that many of you will be going out of your way to show the Moms in your lives how much they are loved and appreciated in fun and creative ways. Though we won’t be gathering together in person this year, we have been preparing to celebrate moms with a special video tribute that we will share during our weekend services.

We miss you and we want you to know that you are always in our thoughts and prayers!

Grace Family:

We have been focusing on the importance of faith in our messages this past week. Faith is not a once and done kind of thing. We must exercise our faith daily, especially in our present circumstances. Hebrews 11:6 says Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. Make a choice every day to focus on things that feed your faith and overcome the fear that the enemy is trying to bring into your life. Focus on God’s promises in the Bible. Remember the words that God has given you personally and those given to our church. Pray into them every day.

It makes us proud as pastors to see how many people are jumping in to help others by offering to deliver food to frontline workers and shop for those who cannot shop for themselves. You truly exemplify what it means to love one another.

We also want say a special thanks to those who are giving financially to the church, and especially those of you who have given funds to help others in addition to your regular giving. Your continued, faithful gifts are giving us the needed resources to bless others and continue to move the mission of Grace forward.

Check out our 2-4-U message from Wednesday and be encouraged!

We want you to know that we are with you in the season. God is not surprised by any of this, and in the midst of it all He will provide, encourage and bless his kids. That’s our prayer for you!

Grace Family:

As most of you are aware, Governor Whitmer called for a shelter in place order until April 13 which requires us to close our office and to delay the time until we can worship together in person.

This whole “shelter in place/quarantine” thing is so difficult when you love to be around the people God has given you to care for. We truly do miss you and look forward to a grand reunion when we can put this all behind us and worship together again!

We want to remain connected to our church family so we will do our best to stay in touch during this time via social media, our website, phone and by email.

Continue to pray with us from your homes at 7:30 each morning using the prayer points below:

Prayer Points
1. Leaders and those in Authority
2. Health Care Workers
3. Families impacted by this Virus in any way.

Pastor Susan Sudney will be leading in prayer live on the Grace Christian Church Community FB page at 7:30 each morning.

To our Grace Family,

Due to Governor Whitmer signing an executive order prohibiting public gatherings of 50 or more, our building will now be closed for public events. This means any Community Groups that were meeting at church will be suspended until April 6. However, if you have a group that meets in your home, it is up to your own discretion if you want to continue to meet. We will keep you posted via email if there are any new changes.

The office will be open during normal business hours. You can reach us at 586-258-4390 from 8A-4PM M-F. You can also message us through our online contact form.

Starting tomorrow from 7:30 AM – 7:45 AM, please join us daily from your own home for a time of prayer. The first 5 minutes of prayer will be covering the following points below then we will pray in the spirit.

  • Government leaders (President Trump, Governor Whitmer and others) for wisdom
  • Health care workers on the front line for protection and strength
  • Families greatly affected for protection and provision

We encourage you all to set aside this time to unite in prayer. Join us for 5 minutes or however long you have.
Please note that our Tuesday & Thursday Prayer Force has been suspended as well.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:17

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Grace Family:

We are thankful that so many of you were able to connect with us online this past weekend. Our time with our church family is extremely important to all of us, especially in times of need. Thank you for worshiping with us, giving faithfully, and joining us in prayer. We are better together, and we believe that we will see God’s glory manifested in and through His body during this crisis. It is time for the church to shine!

Dear Grace:

We sent out an email earlier this week indicating our plan to continue services as usual. However, earlier today, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed an executive order prohibiting public gatherings of 250 or more. In compliance with that order we are moving our services online. We will continue to monitor the situation closely on a week-by-week basis and we will resume in-person services as soon as possible. Be sure to watch the video at the end of this message.
We encourage you all to join us for online services this weekend at our normally scheduled times.
Our online service schedule for March 14-15 is as follows:
Saturday at 6PM | Adult Services | Facebook Live & gracesterling.com
Sunday at 9am | Adult Services | Facebook Live & gracesterling.com
Sunday at 11am | Adult Services | Facebook Live & gracesterling.com
